The blob tracker service provided by MRDS is used with the webcam service. A webcam is used for viewing the objects in range. Further, the Blob Tracker calibration enables us to train the system by first choosing colors on the live video screen given by the webcam. A particular color is selected and then given a name which the system remembers for future color labeling.

The system now becomes intelligent and is able to detect the same trained color on different frames that the webcam provides. A rectangle is drawn around the detected color. This service can amazingly also work on moving objects as well, and the extent to which it can keep on detecting colors depends on how far the object(s) is/are from the webcam and the webcam’s resolution. This service can be used in different sorts of applications. For example a robot tracking a red colored ball in a game arena.
